On Tuesday morning, a video went viral on the Internet, where a pet clinic staff is seen brutally beating a dog while another person recorded the incident. The video was uploaded on Instagram by an animal welfare community. That video promoted widespread condemnation from people and animal activists across the country. Many celebs too have strongly condemned the behaviour of the staff.

Varun Dhawan has commented “Please dm me the information u have I will speak to the necessary authorities”. Many other celebs have requested immediate action. Several animal activists have approached The Municipal Corporation and later Mumbai police have registered a case under Section 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

Within a few hours, the police have arrested both the Staff members who were involved in the Video. The Animal welfare community have shared videos where both have been detained by the police. They wrote “Both suspects caught! Good news! Both suspects have been caught. Thanks to everyone who helped at the scene. Your support made a big difference. Thanks for keeping our community safe. Let’s keep working together for a safer place for everyone.”
Varun Dhawan, sharing the news on his gram, wrote “Thank you Mumbai Police For Acting To Swiftly In This Matter The Content Of What Was Done Was So Heinous Let Law Take Its Course.. Thank you for notifying everyone @Streetdogsofbombay”.

A spokesperson of Vetic Pet Clinic came out in public and gave a statement. “This is a deeply disturbing incident involving a pet and two of our groomers. As pet parents and animal lovers, this is shocking and completely unacceptable to us. As a first step, we have immediately terminated both of them and launched a formal investigation into this. We are also working alongside the authorities and have initiated police action in this matter.
